There are a few organized youth Scrabble clubs in the D.C., Connecticut, Philadelphia, Toronto, and New Orleans areas. If you are not lucky enough to live in one of these areas, you can recruit your friends and family, ask a parent or teacher to start a club, or play online. You can also go to local Scrabble clubs (see NASPA and WGPO), but be aware there will be primarily adults attending, and they will expect a high level of Scrabble play and high a level of maturity.
Cross-tables.com the Cross-tables app have the most up-to-date information for upcoming tournaments. Tournaments that are meant for youth players will be clearly indicated on this list. Youth players are allowed to play tournaments that are open to adults; however, they should discuss with their coach or parent if they have the skills, stamina, and maturity to play in them.
Since 2003, there has been an annual North American School Scrabble tournament. This tournament was originally for youth players in 8th grade and younger, playing in two-on-two teams. Starting in 2017, a high school division was added. These youth compete as individuals rather than on teams. There is also a World Youth Scrabble Championship that North American players occasionally enter!
